Georgia Has Thousands of Lakes, Reservoirs and Ponds

Peach State Bass is not limited to the Georgia DNR fishing-forecast list. Georgia EPD reports about 11,813 lakes, reservoirs and ponds statewide, including 48 lakes over 500 acres and thousands of smaller waters. The DNR forecast waters are only a useful starting group for major public fishing waters.

Pick a Lake will continue to organize Georgia waters by statewide map area, lake name and county so smaller public lakes and ponds can be included along with the major reservoirs.

Major Public Fishing Waters

The Georgia DNR fishing-forecast set remains a quick starting list for larger and better-known fishing waters across the state, including Allatoona, Blue Ridge, Carters, Chatuge, Clarks Hill, Hartwell, Lanier, Nottely, Oconee, Richard B. Russell, Seminole, Sinclair, Walter F. George, West Point and many others.
