Georgia Area Weather & Conditions — 7-Day Forecasts
Weather does not need a separate forecast for every lake. Peach State Bass groups nearby lakes, reservoirs and ponds into practical Georgia weather areas. Several waters in the same area can share one current 7-day National Weather Service forecast.
Georgia Weather Areas
- Northwest Georgia
- North-Central Georgia
- Northeast Georgia
- West-Central Georgia
- Central Georgia
- East-Central Georgia
- Southwest Georgia
- South-Central Georgia
- Southeast Georgia
Each area will use a representative National Weather Service forecast point. Nearby waters can share the same weather forecast while lake levels, dam releases, ramp status and closures remain tied to the responsible lake operator or agency.
Georgia Reservoir Directory — Name and Location
The reservoir directory is being expanded statewide from official Georgia sources. Each entry will show the reservoir or lake name, its general location and county, and the Georgia weather area used for its 7-day forecast.
- Dog River Reservoir — Douglas County — West/North-Central Georgia weather area
- Carters Lake Reregulation Reservoir — Murray County — Northwest Georgia weather area
- J.W. Smith Reservoir — Clayton County — North-Central Georgia weather area
- Twelve Oaks Reservoir — Henry and Clayton counties — North-Central Georgia weather area
- Lake Varner / Cornish Creek Reservoir — near Covington, Walton and Newton counties — East-Central Georgia weather area
- Randy Poynter Reservoir / Big Haynes Reservoir / Black Shoals Lake — Rockdale County — East-Central Georgia weather area
These are the first directory entries, not the full Georgia list. Peach State Bass will continue adding reservoir names and locations from statewide Georgia records.
